This website is the Photo Gallery for Virginia's Lost Covered Bridges. We have posted on here maps from the Civil War era. We have what photos that have been solicited posted here by county. Each county will have it's own page for what photographs pertain to the respective county. We also have photos of the models that have donated to museums in the counties posted here on the Photo Gallery.
We invite you to be a part of this project and help research and document these very important part of our pasts. Almost every single Civil War Battle that was waged in Virginia was centered around a railroad bridge or involved the burning of a road bridge. Many soldiers lost their lives defending these bridges.
